Investigate what species are endangered in Peru, select ten and determine their taxonomy following the current classification system.

Publish it in your wiki.

Just remember: CITE your SOURCES of INFORMATION.

OPTIONAL: Use a typical Peruvian cuisine recipe and indicate the classification of all the ingredients that belong to a kingdom of life.

  • Prepare a personal analysis from the information you heard during the debates and describe the main causes and consequences of global warming and its effects over the world biodiversity, with special attention to the biodiversity in Peru.
  • Propose possible solutions that people your age could start doing to prevent the global warming effects.

Publish it in your personal wiki with YOUR OWN WORDS, with a minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 250 words.

The groups of 7 students must prepare a PPT presentation of 15 slides as a minimum.
The groups of 8 students must make a video of 5 minutes, at least.
Both presentations will have to contain compelling arguments in favor of YOUR group's position and strong comments against the opposing group.

2. Investigate on the internet:
What countries are the most biodiverse in the world?
Select 5 birds, 5 mammals and 5 plants endemic to Peru and find the taxonomical system used to classify them.
3. Prepare for an oral presentation, separating two groups for the 3 peruvian geographical regions, two for the Coast, 2 for the Sierra, and 2 for the Jungle
What conditions make that geographical region good for biodiversity?
What are the national bird and the national plant/flower of Peru? Determine their taxonomy using the 7 levels of classification.

ASSIGNMENT: Find characteristic images of Peru, that could help you describe your country, its culture and geography, email them to me at: glazaro@sanjorge.edu.pe . The best pictures will be selected to participate in a Voicethread international collaborative project with students from New York, USA.

E-Portfolio OPTIONAL ASSIGNMENT: Find out the day the UN selected to celebrate the world importance of Water, and investigate the main chemical properties of the molecule of water. Publish in your own wiki, following the regular indications, USE YOUR OWN WORDS, CITE YOUR SOURCES OF INFORMATION. Deadline: Monday, March 23rd
